TINJAUAN KRIMINOLOGIS TERHADAP TINDAK PIDANA PENGANIAYAAN YANG DILAKUKAN OLEH NARAPIDANA (Suatu Studi di Rumah Tahanan Negara Klas IIA Kota Kendari)

Abstract

The research aims (1) to determine the factors that influence the occurrence of criminal acts of abuse committed by prisoners in the Class II/a State Penitentiary in Kendari City (2) to determine efforts to overcome the occurrence of criminal acts of abuse committed by prisoners in the Class II/a State Penitentiary in Kendari City. The research will be conducted in Kendari City, specifically in the Class IIA State Penitentiary as a technical implementation unit for corrections under the auspices of the regional office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. In this institution, the author can obtain accurate data because in addition to having competence related to the research object, it is also a place where prisoners/convicts are detained. Research results (1) Factors that influence prisoners to commit crimes of abuse in the Class IIA detention center in Kendari City are (a) Inadequate capacity of detention rooms which causes limited space for prisoners to move, resulting in unstable emotions of prisoners (b) Individual problems, in the form of personal problems that become a burden on the minds of prisoners so that they are always overshadowed by feelings of annoyance, boredom and a constantly emotional demeanor (c) Lack of familiarity and harmonious relationships between fellow inmates (2) To prevent abuse by prisoners in the Class IIA state detention center in Kendari City, the security unit supervises each room and places where prisoners carry out activities for 1 x 24 hours. In addition, each block is guarded by a general picket. The general picket is tasked with guarding prisoners and ensuring that there is no disturbance of order in the detention center.
