Abstract

The research aims (1) to determine the factors that cause children to commit violent theft crimes on the streets in Kendari City (2) to determine how the authorities deal with cases of violent theft crimes on the streets committed by children in Kendari City. Research on the Preparation of Proposals and Theses The location of the research taken by the author is the Kendari Police. This location was taken by the author with careful consideration in order to facilitate the research. Research results (1) The factors that cause violent theft crimes committed by children on the streets are: a. Economic factors, where the average work of the parents of perpetrators of violent theft crimes committed by children on the streets is a type of low-income job, some even have parents who do not work. b. Low levels of education of children, lack of formal education affects the mental state, behavior, and morals of the perpetrators. c. Social environmental factors, which are the most influential factors causing children to commit a crime. d. Weak parental supervision, lack of parental attention to children can change the mental condition, mentality and habits of children. (2) Efforts made by the police and prison staff to combat the crime of theft accompanied by violence committed by children on the streets are: a. Preventive efforts include: conducting patrols around the Kendari city area, placing police personnel in places prone to theft. b. Placing police personnel in places prone to theft. c. Holding socialization.
