Abstract

The objectives of the study were: 1). To determine the factors causing sexual violence against children in the jurisdiction of the Abeli ​​Police. 2). To determine efforts to prevent sexual violence against children in the jurisdiction of the Abeli ​​Police. This study was conducted in Kendari City, precisely at the Abeli ​​Police, using the type of research, namely empirical normative. The data collection methods used were document studies, field surveys and interviews using qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen: 1). The factors causing sexual violence against children, especially in the jurisdiction of the Abeli ​​Police, Kendari City, are that there have been crimes of sexual violence against children for various reasons, including: a). Because of trickery; b). Because of the influence of free association; c). The influence of alcoholic beverages. d). The influence of pornographic films. e). Availability of opportunities. 2). Efforts that must be made to prevent sexual violence against children, especially in the jurisdiction of the Abeli ​​Police, Kendari City, are through preventive efforts and repressive efforts. The preventive efforts carried out are by continuously monitoring locations that are prone to sexual crimes among teenagers and also requiring education and guidance as early as possible, the types of education and guidance given to a child are formal education and formal education as well as mental and moral guidance, then repressive efforts are to conduct investigations, confiscate goods as evidence, and demand that severe punishments be imposed on the perpetrators in order to create a deterrent effect and enforce the law against moral crimes, especially sexual violence against children as a safeguard for development which is a shared task and responsibility.
